Key Responsibilities
General Duties
- Develop strong business relationships with contract growers to maximize value for the company
- Provide accurate crop estimates to management regarding crop size and volume
- Work scientifically to produce high-quality crops consistently across diversified environments
- Ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, risk management policies, and contractual agreements
Environment, Health & Safety
- Comply with the rules set by the ESH Committee
- Ensure all ESH guidelines are duly abided
Agility & Innovation
- Coordinate with the Manager in the development of best-in-class agronomic production practices
- Optimize yield and quality while reducing costs
- Improve crop and soil health
- Maximize water and fertilizer use efficiency
Relationship & People
- Possess expert knowledge to quickly identify crop production challenges
- Provide effective alternative solutions and technical guidance to growers
- Offer planning support to farmers
- Educate farmers on safe field operations and the efficient conservation of resources
Candidate Profile
Experience and Education
- 5-8 years of experience in agriculture, preferably in maize development
- B.Sc. in Agriculture (Master’s degree preferred)
- Expert knowledge of soil and plant nutrition, plant physiology, water management practices, pest management, and crop cultural management
- Strong grasp of corn storage knowledge, practices, and operations
Technical Skills
- Proficient in computer skills – Microsoft Office software, email, internet, spreadsheets
- Ability to analyze investigation results to determine measures needed to maintain, restore, and improve proper crop management
- Fluent in writing and speaking English and Urdu
