🔗 Research Project

Applications are invited for a Postdoc Atmospheric GHG Ireland position as Atmospheric Scientist undertaking measurement, analysis and interpretation of greenhouse gases (GHGs), aerosols and SLCFs (Short Lived Climate Forcers) within the Ryan Institute’s Centre for Climate & Air Pollution Studies at the University of Galway.

This Postdoc Atmospheric GHG Ireland role is part of the EPA funded Atmospheric Chemistry and Climate Change (AC3) Network.

Measurements will be made under:

  • Integrated Carbon Observing System (ICOS) for GHG measurements
  • ACTRIS Research Infrastructure (RI) for Aerosol and SLCF measurements

Observation sites: 4 sites in Ireland including the flagship Mace Head Research Station


📋 Duties & Responsibilities

  • Undertake measurements of GHGs, aerosols and SLCFs at 4 sites in Ireland
  • Analyze and interpret atmospheric data
  • Work under ICOS and ACTRIS compliance requirements
  • Contribute to the EPA funded AC3 Network
  • Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals
