Applications are open for a Food Security Climate Change Job at the Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives. The successful candidate will provide policy recommendations, lead strategic initiatives, and coordinate with federal and provincial stakeholders.

📋 Key Responsibilities

Policy & Strategy

• Provide policy recommendations to ensure food security for Pakistan
• Improve rural economy through strategic interventions
• Advise on food security and climate change policy issues

Sector Knowledge

• Possess comprehensive knowledge of policies and research relating to:
  • Agriculture
  • Food security
  • Climate change (national and international)

Project Implementation

• Demonstrate track record of successful implementation of projects and programs
• Experience in agro-based industries development
• Knowledge of food chain creation and value addition

Stakeholder Coordination

• Build strong partnerships among federal, provincial, and local governments
• Coordinate with foreign countries and adapt experiences to local setup
• Work with donors, NGOs, and non-state stakeholders

Complex Problem Solving

• Deal with complex agriculture sector issues
• Address food security and climate change challenges systemically and creatively
• Understand rural economy and its linkages with Pakistan’s political and economic landscape

Additional Duties

• Any other duty assigned by the Minister for PDSI/DCPC/Secretary, PDSI

Required Qualification

Degree Level	Fields
PhD or Master	Agricultural Engineering, Agriculture, Forestry, Veterinary Sciences, Animal Husbandry, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Policy, Climate Change & Sustainability, Food Security, Sustainable Development, Public Policy, Public Administration

Required Experience

Degree	Experience Required
PhD Holders	At least 14 years overall experience including 5-8 years managerial/administrative at policy-making level
Master’s Holders	At least 18 years overall experience including 5-8 years managerial/administrative at policy-making level

Key Competencies

• Track record of successful project implementation
• Experience in agro-based industries development
• Knowledge of production and value addition of non-farm agro products
• Proven capability in advising on food security and climate change policy
• Ability to plan for sector development
• Experience in building partnerships across governments
• Capability to work with donors and NGOs
